University of Anchorage Alaska Chancellor Fran Ulmer will serve as Honorary Chair for Standing Together Against Rape’s (STAR’s) 13th Annual Holiday Tea.

 

Joining Chancellor Ulmer are Mistress of Ceremonies, award-winning producer and anchor Sheila Balistreri and auctioneer former Mayor Rick Mystrom. With entertainment provided by South Anchorage High School’s string quartet and swing choir, the Holiday Tea is an annual community event to remember.

 

 "Every year a magical event is held in Anchorage.  Star's Holiday Tea is a time when caring individuals get together to have fun and help combat one of the state's biggest problems. The festive atmosphere gives everyone a chance to mingle with old friends and to make new friends.  What makes the magic is that they're all there for one purpose...to make someone else's life a little brighter,” said Balistreri.

 

Proceeds for the Holiday Tea support STAR services and help to provide needed items for the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and Alaska CARES - all of which respond to sexual assault and abuse in our community.

 

The “Winter Critters” themed event will be held at the Anchorage Hilton Downtown, Dec. 6 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. including a silent and live auction.
